I had seen a clip of this movie on Tiktok and was surprised I had not heard about it with its semi-stacked cast. The movie is a awkward comedy coming of age story about a young teen falling in love with a girl in a neighboring town. It follow the shennanigans he and is imaginary french double persona get up to in the name of love.

I would say the movie is not great, but it’s not terrible either. I feel like Michael Cera is hit or miss with people, but for me personally, I find him pretty funny. The comedy is just about what you would expect out of a movie with Michael as the lead, but with some great supporting cast from Steve Buscemi and Zach Galalifanakis. The love story is not that deep but is awkward in a funny way. Its not raunchy and an easy watch with a story that is kinda all over the place.

I would give Youth in Revolt a 7/10
