From the cover of this movie, I expected a cheesy action movie with stupid slapstick humor. When I saw Samuel Jackson on the cover? I was sold. All in! The movie is a spoof of Lethal Weapon, which I’ve never seen, but I feel like I almost don’t need to after this. It follows two unlikely cops as they partner on a case of chasing down a drug dealer who is using Girl Scout cookies to distribute their product. Samuel plays a by-the-book cop on the edge of retirement, and Emilio plays a wild-card, gun-crazy cop as they follow leads and blaze their way through the case.

I love a good spoof movie. They are always so stupid that half of the jokes have you cringing or shaking your head, but some of them slip through the cracks and are some of the funniest things I have ever watched. I enjoyed some of the subtler jokes and nods to other common tropes in this style of movie. The effects were pretty good not only for their time but also for a spoof movie. The plot is pretty straightforward, if not a bit go-go-go and unhinged. Despite the nature of the movie, the acting is good, and there are more than a few good running gags in the movie.

Usually, when I watch these old B-list movies, they are not intentionally bad, but this movie knew what it was doing from start to finish. The characters were great; the humor was always entertaining, even if it was not funny. I love a good random fever dream movie, and this delivered. If you have watched any amount of partner crime movies, I think this movie is a classic that is worth a watch.
