This movie was recommended to me by my good friend Kevin! This was one of his top 3 movies of all time so I had to sit down and watch it. The movie follows a nuclear submarine sent out in response to a rouge element of the russian army capturing a nuclear facility. A US nuclear submarine is sent in response to deal with the threat. The movie follow the crew of the USS Alabama and their two leaders as they conflict rises between the two captains.

My backlog of movies is starting to add up, but I was a little hesitant to start this one. I am a little picky about my war movies, with most landing in the mediocre category. Crimson Tide started that way, but very quickly grew on me as the suspense built up. The 90’s look of the movie, mixed with an interesting plot and a good “villain,” all added up to a really good war movie. It was cool to see how much story could fit in such a small space, like a submarine. While I was a little disappointed with the ending, I had a little too much back-and-forth. Overall, the movie was really good and aged really well. They did a really good job tackling morals and a difficult decision, all under the umbrella of well-done suspense.
