Dispatch is a reasonably new “Tell Tale” esque game where you play as a recently retired hero who is allowed to work as a dispatcher for heroes, but instead of a top-notch team, you work with the ” Z Team,” a bunch of villains turned heroes. The gameplay plays out more like a movie, with a few quick-time events, and picking up on how Robert reacts and responds to the story. There is also a dispatching portion, but I will get into that more later. The game is relatively new, released episodically, and chances are it will be picked up for a sequel. The Developer and Publisher is AdHoc Games, with Dispatch being their first game, though the team is made from ex TellTale game devs.

The game looks amazing visually, with a comic-book style that is animated really well. I am not usually one to love these game styles, but after playing the demo, I was hooked. Probably the best thing about this game is the characters and the voice actors they got to play them with, from the Critical Role collab. You already had a great lineup, but then you add crazy curveballs like Yung Gravy, Aaron Paul, and Moist Cr1TiKaL, and the game’s characters are not only hilarious but also charming.
I think the character and the comedy in all the interactions is what really sells the game and will probably hook most people. The story is pretty good with some decent shifts and turns that I won’t spoil. The gameplay is decent but not anything crazy outside the norm for the genre besides the dispatching portion. Though this style of gameplay has been done by other games and in my opinion the dispatch portion doesn’t effect the story too much and almost feels like a bit of filler between the movie sections. I think it adds some flavor and context but wish it had a little more impact outside of those sections.
I thoroughly enjoyed the game all the way from start to finish and had me laughing and making some really tough decisions. The game is polished and well made with a great cast with good character with distinct personalities and flaws. If they do end up releases another game for Dispatch I will 100% be purchasing and playing it.
