I know it has been a while since I have made a post here. I haven’t had a lot I have wanted to post on here recently. However, I have tons of future plans coming up that I am excited about as the world starts to warm up and get into spring. I should also have some van updates soon, I have slowly been making some minor additions to the van, it’s getting more homey every day. But for now, I wanted to share my recent festivities during Ostara.
What is Ostara?
Also known as the spring equinox it is a time to celebrate the start of spring It marks the day when the daylight is the same length as the night. It is a day of perfect balance from here on out the light with triumph over the dark as our days get longer. It’s a perfect time to celebrate balance, renewal, and rebirth. Often this is when farmers will start to plant seeds for the future harvest. celebrations often include painting eggs, making flower crowns, planting seeds, spring cleaning, and going on a spring walk.
My Festivities
For me I wanted to enjoy the nicer weather and get out into nature. Most of the wooded areas around me were still quite covered in snow so I picked somewhere in the Valley I hadn’t really explored yet and landed on Eagle Island State Park. So after making some egg salad for my mid-day snack we hit the road and stopped at Alchemist Coffee for some brunch and a tasty beverage. A couple of my friends swear they are one of the best Coffee places in the valley and I had to give them a try. It did not disappoint. I got a lavender matcha and breakfast burrito and both were amazing but the matcha was on another level will definitely be coming back to try their coffee. I also picked up a cool beanie as a little Ostara treat for myself.

With my body refueled and ready to conquer the travels we drove out to the park which was just a hop and a skip away. It was weird hiking by myself, for the last few years of my life I always had someone with me for these kinds of things but I figured with my van life on the horizon this would be a great way to experience what its like to be flying solo. I spent a lot of time experimenting with my camera stabilizer and checking out what kind of shots were possible with my equipment. Good practice for when I start shooting hiking videos on the daily. I learned a ton and made a fun little video with some of the footage if you want to check it out down below.
Other than shooting some videos I played in the creeks, played around with my new tarot cards, did some journaling, and enjoyed the plant life around the trail. There wasn’t a lot in terms of spring flowers which was a little bit of a bummer and I didn’t want to collect the little amount I did find so I grabbed a bunch of spooky sage brush friends for my alter instead and I love them so much. Despite flying solo, I had tons of fun just doing what I wanted in the moment. The weather was great and the trail wasn’t crazy busy. When I finally got home I decorated some eggs as well as my altar and called it a night with some tea and incense!

Overall I had a great time enjoying spring. I have so many plans already for the spring and summer. I am excited for things to warm and to be able to get into the outdoors. I already have 3 camping trips planned and a 4th in the works for a solo Beltane trip. I am getting more excited about my van trip everyday and keep putting little pieces together and making more plans for what I want to see while I am out on the road. Overall I am just planting all these seeds for the future and I am excited to see them grow. Thank you for tuning in to my blog, I hope Ill have more stuff to blog about in the immediate future. In either case, I hope everyone has a great spring and I’ll see you at the next post!
Cheers!
