February 6th through the 8th our Intrepid adventures set out from Boise Idaho to scout out the elusive and mysterious Skyline Yurt just north of Idaho City. On this journey they would encounter dangerous driving conditions, suboptimal snow shoeing conditions, realizations of personal fitness levels and most importantly the yurt. Feel free to tune in the quick montage I made for a summary or get the juicy details by reading more down below!
The First Steps
Our journey starts on shaky ground when our adventurers hear the word of a coming storm bound to hit the mountains they must traverse to complete their quest. Just a few days before their departure the wise road wizards closed the roads due to snow and avalanches. Fortunately, on the morning of the expedition the adventurers were blessed to hear the roads had reopened. With speed and grace, they rode their chariots to the beginning of the trail. Difficult terrain wore heavy on the adventurer’s hearts and legs. When morale was at its lowest an unforeseen ally came to rally the group: A ranger here to groom the path! With renewed vigor, we made quick work of the remaining journey and arrived at the yurt!
Respite at Last!
Tired and weary from their long journey the party was quick to shed their packs and get the yurt warm and cozy. The handsomest, strongest, coolest, and most righteous of the party got to shoveling and unburying the yurt. Meanwhile, meals were cooked and logistics were arranged. While they were too tired to celebrate that night they got much-needed rest to party twice as hard the next night. Clouds blocked out the stars but the quiet and stillness of the frosty woods were treasures to the senses-a-plenty. There were many laughs and good times shared and the party had their fill of drink and food all in all it was “10/10 would yurt again” as the kids would say.

Departure
What comes up, must come down, and let me tell ya it’s a lot easier coming down. We zoomed down the mountain in no time. We had some issues with getting out of the parking lot. Fortunately, there were tons of people to help us. We celebrated by getting pie at Trudy’s, which is a must. After that it was a quick and easy ride home and the quest was good as completed and with no casualties. Thanks for tuning in and reading about our adventures, I’ll see you in the next one π
Cheers,
Chandler
