I finally got around to the second stop on my Burger Bucket list! Dang, the holiday season got me busy. I decided to invite my good friend Ian this time around. I got out of the gym, so I was a little sweaty and gross, but it wasn’t too far from my gym. We met late night on December 5th and had a little bit of a hard time finding the place. We learned that Smoke & Thyme is a food truck, and they serve their food through White Dog Brewing Company. So without further ado that dive in!
Burger Score: 6.5

I ended up getting the Beer & Bacon Burger, pretty much every part of the burger was beer adjacent. Scotch Ale bacon sauce, bourbon bacon jam, beer onions, all on a brioche bun with some other goodies in there as well. We ate in so we didn’t have to worry about the burger getting smooshed in transit. The Presentation was okay nothing fancy but it wasn’t terrible. I thought the bacon and the cheese sauce were the dominant flavors. but with bacon sauce and bacon jam that is to be expected. The buns were already getting a bit soggy by the time I picked it up but I would not be surprised if the buns were homemade and were actually one of my favorite parts of the burger. I think the burger needed a little less of the cheese sauce and a little bit more of the jam and bacon sauce. I ended up scoring the burger a solid 6.5. Ian got the brisket burger and gave his burger a 7.5.
Fry Score: 7
The Fries came with the burger at no extra cost and were an extra thick-cut fry, I would almost lean toward calling them potato wedges. I actually liked the bigger cut, the inside was very soft but the outside was not crispy. The texture is kind of hard to explain, the closest thing I can think of is spongy, firm but with some give to it. They seasoned them really well, there wasn’t to much salt and they added a seasoning that I liked alot. They had standard dipping sauces available at the table, which is a much with wedges and bigger cuts of fries. Over all I gave fries a score of 7.

Menu Score: 7
Smoke and Thyme had quite a few options when it came to appetizers and sandwiches, we were actually a little surprised when there were only 3 burger options. We did end up getting some appetizers and both were delicious. Ian got their pretzel, now I am no pretzel connoisseur but It was one of the best pretzels I have ever had, and the sauces that came with it made the pretzel a must-get. I got the shotgun shells and they were another solid pick but paled when compared to the pretzel. Being a part of the brewery their drink selection was also solid we both ended up getting good ciders. If you are looking for options for burgers they are slim but otherwise they have a decent amount of options
Vibe Score: 7
Being a part of White Dog Brewing Company the vibe score weighs more on their side than Smoke and Thyme’s. We went late at night on a Thursday and the place was not very busy with a handful of folk at the bar and about 4 groups around the big open space. We sat at a high-top table next to the bay door that probably opens during the summer to offer outdoor seating. We sat right under a hung-up canoe and were surrounded by photos of dogs all around the space (very on the nose lol). There is nothing wrong with the space but it kinda felt empty and plain. I was going to give them a 6 but the staff was amazing and definitely added to the experience bumping them up to 7.

Price Score: 6
I would say that the prices for everything were fair. Nothing was crazy expensive and was a little below what I would call the average price and matched the quality of food and the portion sizes. No complaints here, burger and fries (No drink) will run you about $15, and appetizers average around $10. I didn’t get a picture of the drink menu but I don’t remember it being crazy.
