Our First stop on the burger bucket list was Wyld Child! It was a rainy day on November 18th 2024 I needed to drop off some stuff I borrowed from my friend Justin and we decided to go out for burgers and this is one of his girlfriend’s favorite burger spots. I had actually been here once before and was super impressed. Now we return with a goal: To add them to the Boise Burger Bucket List!
Burger Score 8.5
I ended up getting their Griddle Burger which has their wagyu beef blend, house sauce, sweet onions, American cheese, and pickles. The burger tasted amazing! The burger was the perfect size, it wasn’t greasy or messy and the house sauce and sweet onions really make this burger. The only complaint I had was in the presentation, the burger got a little smooshed but this could have also been because we took it to go. The Griddle Burger is amazing but was just shy of being something yearn for on the daily. I Rated it a 8.5 and my buddy Justin felt it was more of a 8.

Fry Score: 8
They have the option for either sweet potato waffle fries or normal fries and I am a slut for sweet potato so thats what I chose this time around. The sweet potatoes were cooked perfectly nothing burnt, with the right level of crispness. They didn’t over salt them and they gave you a really good serving size which is good cause they don’t have size options. They offer some really interesting dipping sauces but I didn’t even feel the need to dip the fries they were so good. I think the one thing they needed was a light seasoning of some kind to put em over the edge. Hannah got the regular fry and I was able to try some of them and think sweet potato is definetly the way to go. I would definitely want one the the dips if I went with their regular fries.
Menu Score: 8

Wyld Child’s Menu is small with 2 burger, and 2 chicken options and finally a Falafel burger. They have some interesting “Green” options and thats it. While the menu doesn’t offer a grand variety of options, I do appreciate they do have being interesting and not bland which for me balances things off. You do not need to spend a lot of time with decision paralysis or try to find the best option. This paired with their interesting dip and great local drink options, I would say the menu is strong but could maybe use a few more items or seasonal options to keep me coming back.
Vibe Score: 10
Wyld Child is located of of Latah pretty much right off the train tracks. It has a shared outdoor sitting area that is shared with 3 really trendy looking restaurants, 1 being The Stil Ice cream and the other being a little coffee place. It was too rainy and cold to enjoy when we stopped by I have used it on occasion and its always has tons of people relaxing, enjoying good food and having a good time. This in addition to the modern and sleek looking building really give a clean and hip vibe to it that makes it all just pop! The inside of the restaurant was busy but clean and the staff seemed friendly even though I didn’t interact much with them. I would say the vibe is worth stopping by on its own especially if you are just looking to eat and have a chat with friends.

Price Score: 9
For the quality of the food you’re getting I would say Wyld Child is a Steal. For a burger, fries and a drink you’re looking at about $15. A touch above what you can get at some of the larger chains but Wyld Child more than makes up for it in quality. We didn’t get drinks but they didn’t seem that crazy to me at around $7 per drink.
Bonus:
I did end up getting a piece of their peanut butter pie and it was SOOOO GOOOD! Very rich but if you like Reese’s I would buy a slice!
